Translogic BV Presents EASE 5.1

Translogic’s Graphical HDL Entry Tool brings a big leap forward to controlling complex System on Chip (SOC) design projects

May 21, 2002, EDE, The Netherlands – Translogic BV will be very present at DAC 2002 in New Orleans, proudly announcing the release of version 5.1 of EASE, thé §raphical entry tool.
EASE 5.1 addresses common HDL designer problems that affect time-to-market, cost and design viability, namely a true Multi-User design environment and associated version control.

EASE has been internally restructured to offer a library-based design environment for designing and/or reusing HDL designs. This restructuring has now made it possible to fully support complex System on Chip (SOC) projects, where a large team of designers can work together on the same design, at multiple sites.

Translogic has extended the support for the ClearCase Source Revision Control System to enable this system to do its own design management. The new EASE 5.1 acts as a desktop application to control the entire design process for HDL-based design.

What’s new in 5.1
Version 5.1 offers new verification methodology (fully IEEE Verilog/VHDL compliant), verifying all HDL, including the HDL in processes, architectures and state machines.
The new release includes an interface with Cadence NC desktop, visualization of hidden diagram information, a new HDL import wizard, Signal Property Propagation, and a new Tcl configuration dialog to set available scripts and executable settings.

Design with success
EASE is a foundation for the automation of repetitive design tasks. EASE now offers the opportunity to build 'certified' libraries, which can be filled with previously (successfully) simulated and synthesized-, i.e. fully tested, -modules. The libraries can be expanded and reused for new projects, making it so much more efficient and easy to wrap up new projects.

EASE was designed to improve productivity and communication in design teams. Explaining your current design to colleagues, software developers, managers, or any other members of the design team, independent of their level, has now improved by working at a higher level of abstraction. The EASE browser offers an easy way to view, manage and understand your design, instead of having to go through thousands of lines of HDL code.
EASE allows you to swiftly set up a design both bottom-up as well as top-down, in a hierarchical, orderly structure.

About EASE
EASE, integrated with its text editor EALE, offers users an easy, affordable front-end for high-level HDL-design. The graphical interface allows users to organize and navigate through complex HDL-designs. EASE also offers interactive rules checking for electrical and HDL verification.
With just the push of a button, users can output their choice of Verilog and VHDL code for simulation or synthesis with the chip industry's commonly used simulators and synthesis tools. EASE also reads existing Verilog, VHDL, and mixed code and generates a design for reuse, documentation or debug.

Availability and Pricing
EASE 5.1 will be released in June, 2002. Prices begin at $3,500. An evaluation copy can be downloaded from the company's website: www.translogiccorp.com.
